Personal Bio and Background - Meet Your Teacher
My name is Ross Heastings. I am a certified teacher and professional musician from the Pittsburgh Area. I am an independent, licensed small business. I've studied music education at a local university and began working professionally, performing in jazz ensembles, solo classical guitar performances, sessions for singer/songwriters, co-writer for original artists and entertainment acts.
Since 2010 I have worked as a commissioned music score composer working on documentaries and feature films orchestrating choral arrangements, string ensembles, wind ensembles, pitched percussion and digital instruments. If you're interested in learning how to record and produce on a DAW (recording software), I can offer my knowledge on how I continue to work in this industry.
I'm looking for dedicated musical minds. My teaching philosophy is simple; to communicate this information in an organized format and teach you how to create your own music on the instrument. You will be encouraged to write music on the instrument. You will be learning how to create music in the style that you enjoy and perhaps gather influence from other genres and time periods.
