This is a genuine ( not a Linde star ) Star Saphire, not treated in any way, it comes out of the ground and gets cut. The Star Saphire only shows a star in sunlight, or under a single source of light, it won't show on a cloudy day, or under fluorescent light, only under a single light bulb, or flashlight. The 6 ray star is very distinct on this stone, lesser quality are blurry, as this is in indistinct light. The Linde Stars show under any light, only stronger under these conditions. They also have long star lines going all the way across the stone (genuine Star Sahires have a small star that moves across the stone, depending on the angle of the light). Most people don't realize they're fake when they buy them. It is set into a 14K yellow gold ring (marked in ring) with 2 genuine diamonds. I bought this ring because I liked the fact that it is untreated, I researched it before purchasing. The diamonds are the finest quality. I wore it as a pinky ring (my father wore a pinky ring, they were very fashionable back then).
