His name is DIO and he’s an amazing puppy, but due to ongoing issues I’m being forced to surrender him.
He has potential to be with other pets, he just needs to have the negative behaviors corrected. With other dogs he’s still learning boundaries and he is very watchful of cats and will occasionally chase them around, but he never causes any harm.
He’s amazing with people and is well socialized, the main issue is talking him on walks in crowded areas since he’s still learning to ignore people out on the streets. He is a little bit trained, he understands sit, come, and no. He’s in the process of being trained to eat on command, so if you would like to keep pursuing this training what I do is tap the bowl and say “Eat” after getting him to settle down. He isn’t fully potty trained though. It’s been a work in progress.
He does the best with long lasting treats and can be trusted in rooms by himself as long as there is one in there since he’ll dedicate his time to to eating. He will follow you around and observe you (he won’t follow you in the bathroom because he despises baths), and he’ll give you signs when he wants you to pet him and when he wants you to stop. He’s extremely affectionate but also slightly independent. He doesn’t care much for the toys I bought for him, but you could try and give it a go.
He is (mostly) crate trained and will only have accidents upon being left in the crate for an extended period of time. Usually he’s quiet, but if he needs to use it or is hungry he will get loud to let you know. Also happens if he hears/sees someone in the room with him (I’ve been working on getting him used to that so he won’t always bark and will stop pretty quickly if ignored.)
In my opinion, he’s not very high maintenance and is extremely easy to care for aside from the potty training aspect and the few times he does bark. He doesn’t like being alone but as long as doors are open and he can follow you when he wants (or has treats to distract him) he’s relatively silent. I hate to give him up but unfortunately I’m being forced to.
